Hatters host Melbourne International Millinery Competition

Providing unrivalled millinery services for nearly a decade now, Hatters Millinery Supplies are leading the way when it comes to textiles, design and consumer education. As the nation’s oldest millinery supplies store, trusted owner Catherine Kelly and her team have certainly earned the store’s reputation as one of the best in the industry.

To showcase the beauty of eclectic headwear, the recently hosted Melbourne International Millinery Competition (MIMC) celebrated the unique creations of local artists and all things vibrant.

Such competition pieces are now on their way to Sydney to be proudly displayed at Embellish Atelier, the sister store of Hatters Milliner Supplies and additional home of award-winning milliner Catherine Kelly.

This display comes just in time to celebrate Sydney’s Art Month over two exciting weekends, alongside the annual Inner West Open Studio Trail (IWOST) featuring over one hundred studios, galleries and artist-run initiatives.

Having just launched into their second year of competition, the MIMC featured a range of assorted pieces over a number of exciting categories. With an extensive level of design, skill and workmanship, the judges certainly had their work cut out for them as they explored the showcase of exceptional millinery.

The grand final was held at the Lambassa mansion in Melbourne and was an extremely fulfilling day for all involved. Proudly sponsoring the Street Wear Category, Hatters Millinery supplies would like to congratulate 1st place winner Lys Stevens from Bouncing Blue and 2nd place winner Jenepher Walker from Wendy

Having now re-established their retail presence within their Sydney store on Victoria Road, Embellish Atelier will be hosting an exclusive retail section for all Hatters Millinery Supplies to continue to provide customers with the pieces they have grown to love.
