Learn the historical art of Cabbage Tree Hat Making from experts Don and Sue Brian in this spectacular workshop. Run across two days spread 3 weeks apart, this workshop explores the art of the traditional Australian headwear made and worn by convicts and constructed from the native Cabbage Tree.
Learn how to correctly use the tools and the traditional plaiting method along with sewing, constructing and blocking. Most people are able to come away with a fully completed hat, as well as an understanding of the rich history associated with this headgear.
